Mousin' Around...
Morning all!
I'm here this morning with a new creation from me i've recently started all my christmas cards and my craftroom is starting to look like a converyer belt in a factory haha! i'm sure i'm not alone! I must admit i'm not a fan of starting early and septemeber happends to be very early for me i'm normally a last min christmas card maker and this year it seems to have hit me early?! no idea what's going on there!
I've been neglecting my blog so much the last few months i've had so much to do at home work and life in general i've changed a few things so i have more time to create and blog again which i'm sooo looking forward to getting back into!
You may have seen back in July i started a monthly post of what i'm lovin' if you haven't you can catch that here each month! And one of the things on my list was the Tim Holtz Distress Markers! I'd wanted to have ago with these when i first saw them come out, when i saw the price i ran for the hills abit dissapointed they can't be refilled! but an opportunity came up where a friend couldn't get on with them so i brought them from her at virtually half the RRP so i couldn't really resist (not that it takes much at all)!!
So I was super excited when they came and had to drag hubby 17 miles to the nearest art shop to buy the right kind of waterpaper!! haha! and This gorjuss Henry mouse from WOJ is the first thing i coloured! and i love the results! ok so i'm no proffesional and super star with colouring with these or any other pens but i'm chuffed at the results and i'm a strong believer that with practise anything is achieveable.
I will say this i love how these pens blend and it does take a little practise so don't be put off if you have brought them and are struggling!!! i LOVE them now i can use them properly have a look round for tutorials you'll pick up no end of tips!
Back to my card! I've heat embossed some wooden snowflakes and added pearls and gems to the middle of them, embossing powders are from WOW something else i seem to forget i own! (do us crafters have amnesia or something) i forget i own the simplest things!
I love the merry christmas ribbon i was lucky to pick up 10m rolls of red and green last year for the bargain price of £1! so handy for christmas!!! the sentiment ticket is a whimsy stamp something else i love! Papers are a mixture of Basic Grey and MME. I've inked the edges of my kraft cardstock and all the papers with Jumbo Java and used gold mirri card behind the ticket die! to which i seemed to have lost in the midst of my craftroom hmmm... maybe the cat ate it?? seriously wouldn't put it past them!!! And finally i used some prima gems to finish the other corner of my image!
I'd really love to hear what you think to my distress coloring or any tips/techniques or even tutorials you've found! Hit me with links to your blogs i'd love to see your distress coloring too!!!
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo
